What is Winners Nutrition Sleep Support?
Winners Nutrition Sleep Support is a dietary supplement that is marketed to improve sleep for all people, anywhere from people suffering from insomnia to people who sleep the whole night but do not wake up feeling rested. The product contains ingredients both to induce sleep, as well as to stimulate healthy sleep.
Winners Nutrition Sleep Support contains a proprietary blend of sleep enhancement ingredients. 160mg of the capsule are comprised of the following ingredients:
- PharmaGABA (Gamma Amino Butyric Acid)
- 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan)
- Goji Berry Extract (Fruit)
The product label does not list individual dosages for these different active ingredients. The inactive ingredients comprising the capsule include:
- Advantol 300
- Magnesium stearate
- Citric acid
- Lemon flavor
The product label directs adults to take one tablet at bedtime as a dietary supplement. People with a medical condition and women who are nursing or pregnant are instructed to contact a doctor before use.
The manufacturer’s website lists the product at $4.99 for a bottle of 60 capsules, putting the price per capsule at $0.08. The product is also available on Amazon for the same price and free shipping to most addresses in the United States.
Possible Side Effects
Each of the active ingredients in Winners Nutrition Sleep Support has been demonstrated to cause negative side effects (primarily nausea and vomiting, among other symptoms) at high enough doses (at least 1 gram). With the proprietary formula being only 160mg of active ingredients, there is reason to assume that the dosage isn’t high enough to produce any side effects. Even if a consumer ingested any single ingredient alone at a dosage of 160mg per day, it’s unlikely that would cause any negative side effects.
Winners Nutrition Sleep Support does not come with any sort of manufacturer’s commitment.
The Bottom Line
Winners Nutrition Sleep Support is a nightly supplement pill that appears to contain the ingredients necessary to help users regulate sleep. With no consumer reviews posted on the manufacturer’s website and only three on Amazon, we’re not sure how effective users find the product. But at $0.08 per capsule, Winners Nutrition’s product is among the cheapest sleep aid products on the market, and at a total cost of $4.99, interested consumers take a small financial risk trying the product. However, they may be better served spending a little more for a product with more ingredients.
In our review, the only concern we have in recommending the use of the product is that it does not list the individual dosages of key active ingredients, including melatonin. The use of melatonin to regulate sleep has documented in many different clinical populations, and recommended dosages vary widely based on age and condition. While it’s true that even a full 160mg of melatonin per day is not a significant enough amount to cause negative side effects, it is still prudent to know how much melatonin you are ingesting. At the very least, knowing the dosage would provide information on how many hours before sleep users should take the supplement.
